ABOUT ASTROBASE SPACE TECHNOLOGIES
Astrobase Space Technologies is an early-stage Bengaluru company building a two-stage orbital launch vehicle. Our engine is a LOX–methane full-flow staged-combustion engine. The Astrobase Propulsion team is looking for experienced and passionate professionals who can own the vehicle's stage fluid and propulsion systems from design to flight.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build and update engine and sub-assembly models in the top-down layout set by the integration engineer: brackets, clamps, stand adapters and their space claims.
• Route fluid lines and instrumentation harnesses in 3D, holding bend radii, clearances, clamp spacing, thermal-contraction allowance and spanner access at every joint.
• Prepare installation, tube and harness drawings with GD&T, bend tables (XYZ or LRA) for the tube shop, and pin-out lists for every connector.
• Keep the build P&ID and wiring diagrams matched to the model, with each line, valve, sensor and connector tagged once.
• Draft stage-wise build work instructions with exploded views, torque values, inspection holds and cleanliness steps for engineer review.
• Raise change requests, carry approved changes into models, drawings and BOMs, and record which engine serial numbers each change applies to.
• Maintain part numbers, revision letters, the EBOM and the released-document list in PLM; prepare drawing packages for check and release.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Min. 10+ years in CAD modelling and drafting of aerospace, defence or space hardware.
• Large-assembly modelling with tube and harness routing in Siemens NX/Teamcenter, CATIA/3DEXPERIENCE or Creo/Windchill.
• Production drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5, including tube and harness drawings.
• Reads P&IDs, wiring diagrams and engineering change documents.
• Revision control and change workflows in a PLM system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
• Routing of high-pressure or cryogenic lines with AN/MS flared or flareless fittings.
• Harness routing with bundling, clamping and connector backshell clearances.
• Configuration management to SAE EIA-649C; drawing revisions per ASME Y14.35.
• Work instructions built from 3D exploded views or 3D PDFs.
• Has worked on liquid rocket engine or launch vehicle integration hardware.
• Has trained junior draughtsmen.
WHAT WE OFFER
• Salary: ₹12–20 LPA fixed CTC, variable pay based on experience and role fitment.
• Attractive early-stage stock options (ESOPs).
• Group health insurance: employee, spouse, children and parents.
• Insurance: term-life and personal-accident cover.
• Work environment: Challenging, stimulating, research-driven work solving rocket problems every day with a great team. We have a good time, and unlimited coffee.
