ABOUT ASTROBASE SPACE TECHNOLOGIES
Astrobase Space Technologies is an early-stage Bengaluru company building a two-stage orbital launch vehicle. Our engine is a LOX–methane full-flow staged-combustion engine. The Astrobase Propulsion team is looking for experienced and passionate professionals who can own the vehicle's stage fluid and propulsion systems from design to flight..
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and execute lower/upper-stage integration: build sequences, schedules, readiness reviews and shop-floor coordination.
• Work with design, manufacturing and quality teams to make feed, pressurisation, purge, vent/relief, fill/drain and pneumatic systems easy to assemble, inspect, test and integrate.
• Design fluid interfaces, line supports, component mountings, handling fixtures and integration tooling; define engine-to-stage fluid interfaces with the Propulsion team.
• Create and maintain top-level CAD of the complete lower/upper stages, with accurate BoMs and test-stand, facility and GSE/umbilical interfaces; generate assembly drawings for manufacturing and integration.
• Write assembly, inspection and test procedures: torque sequences, cleanliness and FOD controls, leak checks, proof tests, valve functional checks and health checks.
• Oversee stage integration and testing, from cold-flow and cryogenic proof tests to static fires; review assembly & integration checks and assess system performance against requirements.
• Generate and maintain assembly P&IDs; assembly, health-check and test documents; NCRs and dispositions; and as-built traceability records.
• Track BoM availability and kitting status for flight hardware; flag shortages and long-lead items to supply chain and planning.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION
• B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Min. 4+ years in assembly, integration and test of launch vehicle stage or propulsion fluid systems.
• Hands-on work experience integrating high-pressure gas and cryogenic fluid hardware (LOX, LCH4, LN2 or LH2): tubing, valves, regulators, seals and pressure vessels.
• Reading and authoring P&IDs; GD&T and release of production drawings.
• Test-data reduction and review in Python or MATLAB.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
• Prior work on similar stage hardware and test campaigns: feed and pressurisation systems, cryogenic tanks and insulated lines, umbilicals/quick disconnects and GSE.
• Tube fittings and routing; welded and bolted joints; metallic and spring-energised cryogenic seals.
• Leak checks; propellant-service cleaning and compatibility.
• Advanced large-assembly CAD/PLM and visualisation skills.
• Aerospace quality systems; first-article inspection; BoM and kitting control in PLM.
WHAT WE OFFER
• Salary: ₹ 24–36 LPA fixed CTC, variable pay based on experience and role fitment.
• Attractive early-stage stock options (ESOPs). • Group health insurance: employee, spouse, children and parents.
• Insurance: term-life and personal-accident cover.
• Work environment: Challenging, stimulating, research-driven work solving rocket problems every day with a great team. We have a good time, and unlimited coffee.
