Role purpose
Astrobase Space Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced and skilled Facility Operation & Maintenance Instrumentation Technician to support operations at its Rocket Engine Testing Facility in Thimmasamudram, Andhra Pradesh.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in instrumentation maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting of PLC & control system. The role involves ensuring the reliable operation of instrumentation and control systems, supporting test activities.

• Reporting: Facility Head / Operations Leadership Team
Key responsibilities
• PLC Panel Maintenance
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC panels and associated control systems.
• Read and interpret PLC drawings, wiring diagrams and control schematics.
Preventive Maintenance
• Perform routine inspections of instrumentation loops, control panels, field wiring, sensors and safety interlock systems.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Fault Diagnosis and Repair
• Identify and rectify instrumentation faults, signal issues, sensor drift, communication failures and hardware malfunctions.
• Provide rapid troubleshooting support during critical test operations.
Instrument Calibration
• Calibrate and maintain pressure transmitters, pressure gauges, RTDs, temperature transmitters, flow transmitters and level transmitters used in the test facility.
• Maintain calibration records and ensure measurement accuracy.
Safety and Compliance
• Adhere to all safety procedures related to high-pressure systems and cryogenic fluids such as LOX (Liquid Oxygen), LIN (Liquid Nitrogen), and LNG.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures.
Documentation
• Maintain maintenance logs, calibration records, inspection reports and equipment history.
• Document PLC modifications, repairs, and troubleshooting activities.
Required experience and qualifications
• 4+ years of experience
• Instrument calibration and maintenance
• PLC troubleshooting and panel maintenance
• Reading electrical and PLC drawings
• Knowledge of industrial sensors and transmitters
• Preventive and corrective maintenance
• Industrial safety practices
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferences
• Experience in process plants, oil & gas, power plants, cryogenic systems, aerospace testing facilities or similar industrial environments.
• Familiarity with PLC trouble shooting, pressure, temperature, flow and level measurement systems.
• Having hands on experience in Siemens S7-400 PLC is added advantage.
