Job Summary
The ITI Fitter – Technical Helper will support the Operations & Maintenance team in the inspection, operation, maintenance, and repair of cryogenic plant equipment, including cryogenic pumps, electric motors, DG engines, compressors, pipelines, valves, and associated mechanical systems. The role involves assisting in preventive and breakdown maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards applicable to cryogenic operations.


Key Responsibilities

•    Assist in the operation and maintenance of cryogenic plant equipment and utilities.
•    Support preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of cryogenic pumps, electric motors, DG engines, compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.
•    Assist in the assembly, dismantling, alignment, and installation of pumps, motors, couplings, bearings, seals, and mechanical components.
•    Assist in replacing mechanical components such as bearings, gaskets, oil seals, mechanical seals, belts, and couplings.
•    Support maintenance of pipelines, valves, flanges, and fittings used in cryogenic systems.
•    Assist during equipment shutdowns, overhauls, commissioning, and start-up activities.
•    Safely handle maintenance tools, lifting equipment, and spare parts.
•    Support emergency maintenance activities and other operational requirements as assigned.

Qualifications
•    ITI Certificate in Fitter Trade (Mandatory).
•    Candidates with up to 2 years of experience in industrial operations or maintenance are eligible.
•    Experience in cryogenic plants, industrial gas plants, power plants, or process industries will be an added advantage.


Skills Required
•    Basic knowledge of mechanical fitting, maintenance, and rotating equipment.
•    Familiarity with pumps, electric motors, DG engines, compressors, valves, and piping systems.
•    Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
•    Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and maintenance procedures.
•    Knowledge of industrial safety practices, including LOTO, PTW, and safe work procedures.
•    Ability to work in rotational shifts and respond to maintenance emergencies.
•    Good teamwork, communication, and learning attitude.

Working Conditions
•    Industrial cryogenic plant environment involving mechanical and rotating equipment.
•    Exposure to low-temperature systems, noise, and outdoor work.
•    Rotational shifts, weekend duties, and emergency call-outs may be required.
•    Mandatory use of PPE, including cryogenic safety gear where applicable.
